Why it matters

Why phone number verification matters

Wrong and outdated numbers waste hours of sales time. Reps reach switchboards, former employees or numbers that no longer exist, and calling the wrong people can create compliance risk.

More conversations

Reps dial numbers that connect to decision makers.

Less wasted time

Dead and wrong numbers are removed before anyone dials them.

Clean, dialable formats

Every number in one international format your dialer accepts.

Know what works

A valid, invalid or bounced status on every number.

How it works

Our phone number verification process

From a mixed list of numbers to direct dials you can trust.

  1. Share your numbers

Send a file or give us CRM access, with the contact and company for each number.

  2. Standardize

We convert every number to the international E.164 format with the right country code.

  3. Validate

We check each number is a real, possible number and identify the line type.

  4. Confirm the owner

Our researchers check the number belongs to the contact or their company.

  5. Mark and deliver

Every number is marked valid, invalid or bounced, and delivered back to you.

Get in touch
What is phone number verification?
Phone number verification checks that a phone number is valid, correctly formatted and belongs to the person or company you think it does, before your team calls it.
What is E.164 format?
E.164 is the international standard for phone numbers: a plus sign, the country code and the number, with no spaces, up to 15 digits. For example, +14155550142.
What is the difference between a direct dial and a switchboard number?
A direct dial reaches one person. A switchboard or main line reaches the company reception. Direct dials usually lead to far more conversations.
What do valid, invalid and bounced mean?
Valid numbers are real and in service. Invalid numbers are wrongly formed or cannot exist, such as a missing digit or wrong country code. Bounced numbers were real but are no longer in service, so calls to them fail.
Can you find numbers that are missing?
Yes. Our contact enrichment service researches direct dials and mobiles for contacts who do not have one.
