Guide

What is a cold email spam checker?

A cold email spam checker is a tool that scans the subject line and body of an outreach email for the wording, formatting and link patterns that spam filters penalise, and gives you a risk score before you send. The Achivix checker scores from 0 to 100. Under 20 is clean, 20 to 49 is risky, and 50 or more is likely to land in spam.

It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs in your browser, so the email you paste is never uploaded.

Which words trigger spam filters?

The checker looks for about 115 phrases in five groups. A phrase in the subject line counts 1.5 times as much as the same phrase in the body.

FAQ

Cold email spam checker: frequently asked questions

Common questions about the spam checker and what its score means.

Ask us something else
Is the cold email spam checker really free?
Yes. It is free to use with no sign-up, no credit card and no limit on the number of emails you check.
How is the spam score calculated?
The checker scans your subject line and body for known spam signals and adds points for each one. Trigger phrases score between 3 and 10 points depending on how strong the signal is, and anything in the subject line counts 1.5 times. Formatting problems such as capitals, repeated exclamation marks, shortened links and too many links add more. The total is capped at 100.
What is a good spam score for a cold email?
Under 20 is clean. Between 20 and 49 is risky, which means some filters will let the email through and some will not. A score of 50 or more is likely to land in spam and needs a rewrite.
Does a low score guarantee my email reaches the inbox?
No. The score covers your wording, formatting and links only. Mailbox providers also look at your sending domain's reputation, your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, your bounce rate, and how many people mark your emails as spam. A clean email from a poor domain can still be filtered.
Is my email stored or sent to Achivix?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser. Your subject and body are never uploaded, saved or shared.
Which words trigger spam filters?
The checker looks for five groups: urgency pressure such as "act now" and "limited time", money and freebie language such as "100% free" and "save big", overpromising such as "guaranteed" and "risk-free", pushy calls to action such as "click here" and "buy now", and classic spam phrases such as "this is not spam" and "you have been selected".
Does it check my domain, SPF, DKIM or blacklists?
No. This tool checks content only. Domain authentication and blacklist status need a separate test with a deliverability tool or your email provider.
How long should a cold email be?
We suggest 50 to 125 words in the body, a subject line under 50 characters, and one link at most. The checker flags emails that are longer than that or that carry several links.
Can I use it for newsletters and marketing emails?
You can, and the wording checks still apply. The length, link and plain-text advice is written for one-to-one cold outreach, so expect a newsletter to score higher on those points.
My email scores well but still lands in spam. What now?
The cause is usually outside the copy. Check that your domain has SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up, warm up new inboxes slowly, and remove invalid addresses before sending, because high bounce rates damage sender reputation quickly. Domailfix by Achivix checks whether an address is real before you send.

Clean copy needs a clean list

Bounces hurt deliverability as much as spammy wording. Achivix builds human-verified B2B contact lists so your emails reach real inboxes.
